Partial word matching in gmail?

I know google doesn't support partial word matching in general, but is there any way to do it in gmail? I often find myself wanting to search based on partial words because I don't know the exact word and gmail doesn't know a synonym

No. Google has left wildcard searching out of gmail. Crazy, I know, but there it is.

This is a tough one, but I'm going to have to side with Google on this. I'm the biggest commie hater in the world, but I think the most important thing is to GET IN CHINA with their product. This is the best way to affect real change there. Democracy will prevail, thanks to the Internet, no matter what the Chinese government does. Just my opinion :)
